Who is Council?

We all are!  Council is made up of Mandated Members, Elected Members, Staff, Community Parent Volunteers, and Community Partners.  We meet quarterly as a whole Council, and numerous times throughout the year to work on things like Early Childhood, Community Team, Planning, Public Policy, and the business of keeping Council moving forward.

Knox County FCFC Members:

Statutory permanent members, as defined by statute, the chief executive office of the following

governmental entities shall be permanent members of Knox County FCFC:

  • A School Superintendent representing all school districts (or designee), (other than the Mount Vernon City Schools), with territory in the county

  • Mount Vernon City Schools Superintendent (or designee)

  • Knox County Department of Job & Family Services

  • Knox County Health Department (or designee)

  • Knox County Board of Developmental Disabilities (or designee)

  • Mental Health & Recovery Board of Licking and Knox Counties (or designee)

  • Knox County Commissioner Board President (or designee)

  • City of Mount Vernon  (or designee)

  • Ohio Department of Youth Services

  • Knox County Head Start representative

  • Representative of a local nonprofit entity that funds, advocates, or provides services to          children and families – United Way of Knox County

  • Parent Representative (Minimum of 3), whose families are or have received services from an agency represented on Council or another county’s Council

 

Non-statutory permanent members, individuals representing the following organizations or

groups, shall be permanent members of Knox County FCFC:

  • Behavioral Healthcare Partners of Central Ohio, Inc.

  • Interchurch Social Services of Knox County, Inc.

  • Kno-Ho-Co Ashland Community Action Commission

  • Knox County Transit

  • Knox County Department of JFS Children and Family Services Division

  • Knox County Juvenile Court

  • Knox County Metropolitan Housing Authority

  • OSU Extension

  • New Directions Domestic Abuse Shelter of Knox County

  • The Salvation Army of Mount Vernon

  • Pathways of Central Ohio

  • The Freedom Center

  • The Village Network

  • ANEW Behavioral Health
